May 5, 2012 – First Preparatory Meeting of the North Carolina Chapter of the Zhejiang University Alumni Association Held

On May 5, 2012, the preparatory group for the North Carolina Chapter of the North American Zhejiang University Alumni Association (ZJUAANC) was established in North Carolina and held its first preparatory meeting.

At the meeting, Zhejiang University alumni working, teaching, and studying in North Carolina, including those from Raleigh, Cary, Durham, and other areas, discussed preparations for the founding ceremony of the North Carolina Chapter. They also discussed welcoming visiting representatives from the Zhejiang University Alumni Association and Zhejiang University, recruiting council members and alumni association members, and dividing responsibilities for the operation of the council.

According to the preparatory bylaws, all graduates and former faculty/staff of National Zhejiang University and its predecessors (Zhejiang Industrial College, National Third Sun Yat-sen University) and successors (Zhejiang University, Hangzhou University, Zhejiang Agricultural University, Zhejiang Medical University), as well as earlier affiliated schools, are eligible to join the alumni association.

The alumni association makes no distinction between seniors and juniors, nor between ranks. Its purpose is to promote connections among alumni, encourage mutual support, and jointly care for the development of our alma mater.
