On September 30, 2017, the North Carolina Chapter of the North American Zhejiang University Alumni Association (ZJUAANC) held its Mid-Autumn barbecue gathering at Jordan Lake State Park. More than 60 Zhejiang University alumni and their family members gathered to connect and celebrate the festival.

Among the attendees were alumni who graduated more than twenty years ago, as well as new students who had just arrived in North Carolina. There were also graduate students still pursuing their studies and professionals who had been working for several years.

ZJUAANC prepared a variety of barbecue ingredients, home-style dishes, fresh fruits, and refreshing drinks for everyone. In honor of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the association also specially prepared mooncakes so that alumni in the North Carolina area could celebrate the festival together.

After the meal, alumni introduced themselves to one another, sang the university anthem together, and took group photos by the beautiful Jordan Lake. Twenty-one enthusiastic alumni voluntarily provided saliva samples to help alumnus Haobo, who was suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, offering him hope for recovery.
