Council Updates

ZJUAANC Council Notification

Dear Council Members,

On August 26, 2021, President Xu Weining issued a notice in the ZJUAANC WeChat group calling for a leadership transition meeting. After council members coordinated the meeting time via the group, formal notice was sent through both the council WeChat group and email distribution list regarding the meeting scheduled for September 21, 2021, to be held via Zoom.

The attending council members passed the following resolutions and recommendations:

  1. President Xu Weining decided not to seek re-election for personal reasons and will instead serve as Advisor and Lifetime Council Member.

  2. Per the bylaws and nominations, former Vice President Zheng Naiquan is recommended as the next President.

  3. Council member Zhu Hanqi is nominated as First Vice President.

  4. Council member Huo Mingxu is nominated as Vice President.

  5. Founding Council member Shen Zhangxin is nominated as Council Member.

  6. Liu Fangfang is nominated as Council Member.

  7. Per personal request, Vice President Xiu Aijun is proposed to resign from the Council and the Vice Presidency.

  8. Per personal requests, the current council members who requested to step down are proposed to resign.

  9. Amendment to Article 13, Chapter 4 of the Bylaws: Change “The Council shall consist of nine, eleven, thirteen, or fifteen alumni” to “The Council shall consist of five to twenty-one alumni.”

  10. Amendment to Article 13, Chapter 4: Change “The outgoing President becomes Advisor and serves on the Council” to “The outgoing President becomes Advisor and Lifetime Council Member (Lifetime Council Members do not count toward the Council quota).”

  11. The specific committee assignments for the new council members, the addition of one Vice President, and alumni activities shall be arranged by the incoming President.

  12. These proposals shall take effect upon receiving written approval (via WeChat group or email) from more than half of the current council members.
