ZJU Alumni Association of NC Establishes Strategic Partnership with Four NACUAA Chapters; Four Chapters Form Sister Chapter Alliance

A transformative chapter in North American collegiate alumni collaboration has officially commenced. Zhejiang University Alumni Association of North Carolina (ZJUAANC) is proud to announce a comprehensive strategic partnership with four leading chapters of the North American Chinese University Alumni Alliance (NACUAA): Northern California Chapter, Silicon Valley Chapter, North Carolina Chapter, and Greater Washington DC Chapter!
Simultaneously, the four NACUAA chapters formally resolved to establish a Sister Chapter Alliance, creating a unified, multi-regional collaboration matrix connecting the East and West coasts.
Background & Strategic Expansion
Founded on June 1, 2012, ZJUAANC has continually upheld Zhejiang University’s motto of “Seeking Truth, Pursuing Innovation”, deeply engaging alumni in the Research Triangle Park (RTP) and fostering academic and tech exchange across North America.
Historically, ZJUAANC has maintained a close, fruitful collaboration with NACUAA North Carolina Chapter, jointly presenting premier programs such as the AI-Native Agent Security & Compliance Series, the Physical AI & Embodied Intelligence Series, and co-hosting the 1st North American Chinese AI Music Creative Competition.
Recognizing the increasing mobility, career transitions, and cross-disciplinary aspirations of ZJU and collegiate alumni across North America, leadership from ZJUAANC and the four NACUAA chapters reached a consensus to elevate this collaboration nationwide across Northern California, Silicon Valley, North Carolina, and Greater Washington DC.

Under the guiding tenets of “Connecting Activities, Sharing Resources, Supporting Alumni”, the strategic alliance will drive impact across three key dimensions:

- Mobilizing ZJU’s distinguished academic network alongside tech and industrial ecosystems in Silicon Valley, the Bay Area, RTP, and Greater Washington DC to offer regular, high-caliber forums on AI agents, physical AI, cybersecurity, biotechnology, and venture creation.

Interconnected Club Ecosystem:
- Opening and cross-linking ZJUAANC’s five signature clubs—AI Club (zjuaanc.org/ai), Run & Hike Club (zjuaanc.org/run), Music Club (zjuaanc.org/music), Guandan Club (zjuaanc.org/guandan), and Pickleball Club (zjuaanc.org/pickleball)—with NACUAA chapter clubs to facilitate joint competitions and shared member privileges.

Cross-Regional Alumni Mutual Aid & Welcoming Services:
- Creating dedicated mutual-support conduits for alumni relocating between coasts, new graduates seeking careers, and founders establishing cross-state offices, offering localized guidance, mentoring, and community hospitality.

The four participating NACUAA chapters represent premier centers of innovation and governance:

- Silicon Valley Chapter (President: Dr. Qilei Peng): Centered in the world’s premier high-tech hub, connecting tech innovators and engineering executives (sv.nacuaa.ai).
- North Carolina Chapter (President: Rose Li): Anchored in the Research Triangle Park, fostering biotech and university collaboration (nc.nacuaa.ai).
- Greater Washington DC Chapter (President: Bin Liu): Radiating across the DC metropolitan region, engaging leaders in technology, finance, and policy (dc.nacuaa.ai).
